Rejecting God’s Sovereignty

“There is no broader way to apostasy than to reject God’s sovereignty in all things concerning the revelation of himself and our obedience, refusing to ‘bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ’. From the refusal to submit to God’s sovereignty over all things, including our eternal salvation, arose Pelagianism, Arminianism and every present-day heresy.”

He’s so good at getting to the heart of the matter in just a few words! Great quote!

Awesome quote. Usually Owen’s stuff is way over my head, but I totally got this one.lol

Lifecypha, do you mean like this?! I had planned to order this book when I came across the title but after seeing it online, I changed my mind! But I wanted to mention that some of Owen’s works have been edited now and are much easier to read. Overcoming Sin and Temptation is one of those. Kelly Kapic and Justin Taylor edited it and they did a great job!

Lol. . I have his book “Biblical Theology” and I can get a headache trying to read it. I’ll have to try some of his edited works like you suggested.
