Thanks for this. May God have mercy upon us and bring us back to our senses.

Excellent! Praise the Lord. All for Christ

  3. Dr. Don Harper says:

That was the bravest sermon by a human man I have ever heard. I was a southern Baptist Pastor, who preched like that, and the Church of over1, 000 members could not stand it, so I was discharged unless I changed my preaching method of biblical Truth, I would not change, so, I’m out! Not one sermon in two years, becasue I will not tone down my preaching on God’s judgement. Thank You, for that breath of fresh truth!
    God Bless you.
    Yours in Prayer and Respect.
    Don Harper

For years I have listened to your messages, and been taught by the wisdom of God you so carefully teach. I thank you for your continued passion to teach the truth of God. My prayer will be that this message will be heard by many, and that we as a nation will be grieved to the core, and repent, and look to God for forgiveness — may He have mercy on us. Well done, dear and faithful servant of the Lord.

  5. Bernard Callaway says:

the place where I disagree with him [john macarthur] is that he claims God has left America…
I believe God has left the planet…

  6. [...] is a good argument that God has abandoned this culture. This country. Maybe even you. What do you think? Do you [...]

  7. Nathan says:

This is such a devastating truth. We are nothing. Praise the Lord for His mercy, grace, and foreknowledged. Thanks Jash for putting this together. To see others, view http://www.truthcrossing.com

  8. Dan says:

John doesn’t understand that God’s wrath has been poured out completely on Christ. God is not in the judgement business at this point therefore the idea that he has left America is misguided. We will be judged at the end of our lives or when Jesus returns, but not now. I do like his focus on the Word, but we won’t win the world as Christians if we don’t bring people to the Word. Crying out that God has left is just silly – remember he is omnipresent therefore can’t leave. Besides he promised that he wouldn’t leave – “I will never leave or forsake you” – Hebrews 13:5. You shouldn’t resort to unbiblical scare tatics even if your cause is bibilical.

  9. manuel says:

Curious, does God “redeem” cultures and societies? Did Jesus Christ live a perfect life under the law and suffer the consequences of eternal wrath on the cross to “save” cultures and societies? Is it biblical to speak in those terms that God abandoned America? Is that what happened to the Dutch? Can we say that God abandoned England? What about China? What about Germany? Or France? Did God ever save Thailand and has he now abandoned it? Is that why Thailand is the way it is? It’s interesting that we make a huge deal out of America being abandoned, but never about other nations.

  10. Jim P. says:

I agree with you 100%. This great nation has crossed the line. Laodicea, the last church age, one of the meanings of Laodicea is peoples rights. As you said, we are here. This next thing is a couple of quotes from way back in 1956, by a man of GOD, & it has came to pass. This Nation as a whole, is not a christain nation, but there are still many Christains still here who know GOD, are still claiming this Scripture, CHRIST in us, the Hope of Glory, The only hope that this nation & world has.

22-4 I notice the great famous evangelist, Billy Graham; he come back from overseas, and he staged his meetings: New York and these great places, to hit the very nerve center and so forth. And I see that Brother Roberts, excommunicated out of the foreign countries.
Mr. Arganbright wants me after June, and them to go into Germany, back down into South Africa, and through there, but something’s holding me to America. And all the others seems to be the same way, and I believe that America is going to get her last call this year. That’s right. I’d be daresn’t… Look here at the tapes down here. They might be played twenty years from today.

22-6 See, have to watch what you’re talking about; watch what you’re saying, but I believe that. Now, the Lord hasn’t told me that, but I believe that, that America is either going to receive Christ or is going to turn Him down flatly this year; and I predict that they will turn Him down. I do.

22-7 Look what they’re doing down in Florida to Jack Coe. Look what they’re doing all the way. How could they ever… That’s even unconstitutional to oust a man out of a state. We’ve got freedom of speech; certainly we have. But the first thing you’ll know, they’ll try to stop all of this. The–they’ll try to quit praying for the sick and put a banned on it. And just remember that when persecution rises, the church it comes to its very height then. It’s always the best. Yes, sir, and God’s working it all together. [A person interrupts by praising God--Ed.]
These three little quotes are now coming to pass. GOD Bless you all.

    Powerful and needed message!

  12. ccaesarina says:

I wonder if God ever intended to use cultures to redeem the world in the first place…

Ezekiel 36 clearly said that it is HIM who will bring it all into completion – the renewing of hearts – regardless of how much Israel as a nation had profaned His name:

22 “Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came. 23 And I will vindicate the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, and which you have profaned among them. And the nations will know that I am the Lord, declares the Lord God, when through you I vindicate my holiness before their eyes. 24 I will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land. 25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean from all your uncleannesses, and from all your idols I will cleanse you. 26 And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. 28 You shall dwell in the land that I gave to your fathers, and you shall be my people, and I will be your God. 29 And I will deliver you from all your uncleannesses. And I will summon the grain and make it abundant and lay no famine upon you. 30 I will make the fruit of the tree and the increase of the field abundant, that you may never again suffer the disgrace of famine among the nations. 31 Then you will remember your evil ways, and your deeds that were not good, and you will loathe yourselves for your iniquities and your abominations. 32 It is not for your sake that I will act, declares the Lord God; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and confounded for your ways, O house of Israel.

and if that was God’s plan for God’s CHOSEN -HAND PICKED nation – how much more is it for america which is not even mentioned in the bible? (forgive my sarcasm)

Anyway, sorry but I don’t think this message is helpful for the hearers. It’s more helpful to encourage believers to keep on going strong in faith because the world is totally corrupt – than to have a message focused on how corrupt the world is (which is an obvious fact – which we shouldn’t dwell on)

And to say that America “was” used by God to reach the nations – is to downplay the Gospel (death and resurrection of Jesus Christ for our sins) and the role of the Holy Spirit – and to undermine God’s sovereignty
